Conservation Districts were originally established to
combat extreme erosion conditions resulting from
the era known as "The Dirty Thirties". Volunteer
boards were created to initiate, champion, and
manage land stewardship and conservation
programs. The goal of each District is to provide
conservation education and the resources to further
soil and water conservation.
